Actually, there was an announcement about the forthcoming upgrade of the forums and it was visible for a couple of weeks prior to the upgrade, but then again,

OMG, Hiya Dureen! It sure is nice to see you still stopping by to check on us. I hope everything is going well for you. There's still several of us
around, although we are a tad bit smaller than we used to be 'back in the day'.
